Summertime and the sport keeps coming for NEP Visions
Outside broadcast company provides coverage of a remarkable range of sports
Any sports fan knows that top class, up to the minute coverage of an event, if you can't be there yourself, is imperative. Viewing has to be almost as good if not as good as being there. This explains why so many broadcasters have chosen top class outside broadcast provider NEP Visions to film several of their events across Europe this summer, from cricket to swimming, to athletics and equestrianism.
One of THE key events of the British summertime is watching the tennis at Wimbledon, and for more years than Roger Federer has won championships, Visions has provided the HD coverage for three different broadcasters, NBC, ESPN and the Tennis Channel. This is a massive undertaking, demanding simultaneous coverage of multiple courts, presentation facilities and a huge on-site EVS editing set up.
The summer of 2009 sees The Ashes test back in Great Britain, the most important event in the English or Australian cricket fans diary and it will be Visions capturing it on behalf of Sunset and Vine for Five's nightly highlights show. The most intense cricket action in the world will be coming from venues including Lord's in London and Trent Bridge in Nottingham where Visions has already provided the coverage of the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup in June working with Broadcast Solutions Singapore on behalf of host broadcaster ESPN Star Sports.
This year's FINA World Swimming Championships are being held in Rome, and Visions will be there to splash the coverage of unusual events such as diving, water polo and synchronized swimming. They will also be in Berlin for the IAAF Athletics Championships, making their debut producing the host broadcast feeds from this event. Both of these high profile events Visions will cover for NBC.
"Our summer started with the UEFA Champions League final from Rome and then Wimbledon, cricket, swimming, athletics, horse racing and more will keep us more than busy with all of our fleet of 20 trucks on the road until the start of the next football season," said Steve Jenkins, managing director of NEP Visions.
