Africa’s Rising with help from Visions
Visions selected for the final leg of international ThisDay music and fashion festival
NEP Visions, the largest independent Outside Broadcasting company in the UK and one of the largest in Europe, has been selected by production company, Media Underground to provide SD coverage of the ThisDay Africa Rising concert to be held at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday 14 October.
Visions will be providing Media Underground with a complete OB solution for the event including 7 cameras, a Steadicam, grip equipment and audio facilities. As part of its commitment to delivering cost effective solutions, Visions will carry out the rigging, rehearsals and recording in a one day shoot to ensure maximum value for the client.
The London concert will see the culmination of a four city, three nation tour which has seen concerts in Abuja and Lagos in Nigeria and Washington DC
The previous shows have been a huge success drawing international stars such as Jay Z, Beyoncé, Busta Rhymes and John Legend whilst this year's London show will be headlined by Christina Aguilera and Seal.
The event, designed to highlight the rich culture of the continent as well as showcasing some of its most promising international talent in music and fashion, will also feature a catwalk show where international supermodels Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek and Tyson Beckford will model for designers Ozwald Boetang and Chris Aire.
The tour is designed to raise awareness of the ongoing issues in Africa and to find a sustainable solution to ending these problems. For Visions, this is not the first event that they have been involved with in support of African awareness; the company also provided host broadcast facilities for the Nelson Mandela 90th birthday party celebrations in Hyde Park in June.
Visions will be using its D10 OB unit for the event, a unit designed to meet the needs of venues where parking space is at a premium. D10 has an expanding rear section which offers a space saving solution from the exterior whilst maintaining a comfortable production gallery inside the OB unit.
Brian Clark, contract director for Visions said "we are delighted to have been chosen to provide the production facilities for this exciting event. We have had a busy year with music events and our clients come to us because of the versatility across our fleet that allows us to offer the same levels of quality for each production, no matter how large or small."
